Exciting Update

My ExpressPost arrived in my sis's mailbox yesterday. She phoned me to let me know. What a happy nerd I was.

Also, I'm beginning to suspect the local news and weather people are a bunch of drama queens. Yes, it snowed yesterday and we went home early. Yes, it was a storm. But on the 6 o'clock news, you'd think it was a huge mega-storm and not just a typical winter storm. It was 20+ cm of snow. Certainly not the storm of the century, but the reporters were talking it up like crazy, and I thought Oh come on now. Stop it. Stop this silliness right now.

I'm going to tell the head boss...that'll teach them to let you go early! You can handle the storm next time!

Don't get me started on weather reporters...slowly, Montreal weather reports are starting to sound like those from Toronto. To this day, I will never forget the time I was in Toronto on business and the temperature was around 30 degrees...not particularly humid, just a hot (and to me, pleasant)summer day...and the weather people were warning people to be careful, and to not leave the house and do things if they didn't have to, and to stay properly hydrated...It was a summer day, for f * *k sake. It wasn't like the sun had collided with earth.

I did not mean this post to imply that I was not totally grateful for the extra hour off work. I was. Most sincerely.
