All I had to do was complain about the boring campaign and, spring!, a little drama appears.
Seems André Boisclair got more than a bit upset when a radio host in the Saguenay referred to the PQ candidate for the riding, who is gay, as "une tapette".
Wow. I don't think I've heard that word since high school.
It says a lot more about the radio announcer than it does about the candidate.

LLJ, It's a mean word. I guess in English it would be "fairy". I don't think it's as harsh as "faggot", but I don't know.
I just know when I saw it today, I found it offensive.
I don't know anybody who uses that word. Except my late father, but as an Anglo speaker, he used it because he thought it was funny. He would usually accompany it by a limp-wristed move straight out of Benny Hill. (Now I'm laughing to myself.)
As a gay man, that comment totally offended me.
What's up with asshole radio broadcasters in Quebec City?
Montreal doesn't have any Howard-Stern-esque broadcasters.
At least, not that I know of...
I don't like Boisclair but I think he handled it correctly by saying its the voters who will decide whether the candidate's sexual orientation matters. And I think he's right in assuming it won't matter.
