Far be it from me normally to criticize Al Gore (oh, Al), but these concerts for global warming are a stupid idea.
If there is one subject that people, especially young people, don't need any help to raise their consciousnesses, it's climate change.
What a waste of energy. It would be more helpful to the planet if everyone stayed home.

And are the concerts going to be 'green'? Will the amps be powered by solar energy? How will they get to the concert - in cars? planes?

Here, we call it 'preaching to the choir'.
Yep - we'd say:
"Preaching to the converted"
or
"Taking coal to Newcastle" (which is obviously a big coal mining area.....)
or
"Selling ice to an eskimo"
Well, I could go on.
