Mailer
I've never read anything by Norman Mailer but I was always interested in him as a public figure. He appeared in Montreal a couple of times in the past 10 years or so, and I didn't go see him. I wanted to, I thought about it, but I didn't go. And now I regret it.

Why are these so-called brilliant writers/artists/whatever often such ghastly people? Like, how many wives did Mailer have? 6?
Yes, 6. Anyone who gets married six times thinks marriage is a joke.
not the wife of bath (she had 5; "bring on the 6th" she said), but I think she had a lot of old, sick husbands who died on her...
