In IT news

My computer re-staging hit some kind of snag this afternoon. Some kind of "application error" screwed it up. Calvin, Mr. Suave from IT, assured me I would be his first task at 8:15 tomorrow morning. My PC would up and running by the time I arrived, he assured me.
Liar.

I'm beginning to think IT people are the same the world over.

Most of them are, I suspect. But Mr. Suave came through this morning, and here I am back on-line. whee.

I just finished yelling at my Computer Help Desk guy, opened your blog, and am greeted by more IT grief.

Not that you care. but Help-Desk guy #1 kept telling me to type in CONS (so he could share my screen and repair my problem)...I kept repeating it. He kept saying "yes"...over and over and over (because it wasn't working) Turns out he was saying "F"...then the second guy sends me an e-mail and tells me to correct the problem myself with a series of steps that I had no clue what they were. Does he not realize that if I was computer literate, I wouldn't have needed to call him in the first place????
