The new standard of cool


James Brown's body is "lying in state" at the Appolo Theater in Harlem. How cool is that.

I can't believe I just saw the open casket on the news. Ick. I hate open caskets. In his case, though, it seems appropriate to believe that he would want everybody to see him just one more time.

And the gold coffin......the guy wasn't short on ego, was he?

I bet Gerald Ford has a much more dignified funeral - this just looked plain chaotic.

They had this huge photo of him in the paper today - ick! It was such a distraction I had to fold the paper into funny little bits so I could read the other items without having his dead face in my view all the time.......
