Toast!

I had a piece of toast today. Hurray. It made squeaking, popping and grinding noises on the way down like something out of Mousetrap.

It was the first bread I've eaten in 2 weeks. That may not sound like a big deal, but 2 weeks without bread is very weird and un-natural. It'll be 2 more weeks before I attempt to swallow untoasted bread, but today was a successful Step One.

I also had bran cereal for breakfast. Whee. I am a foodie dare-devil.

Progress!!!!

What sort of spread are you allowed on the toast?

wouldn't crunchy toast be harder on the guts than soft-ish bread?

I can have jelly or butter/margarine. No jam because jam has seeds in it, and no peanut butter because p.b. clumps.

Toast is easier than bread because breads clumps and toast crumbles. Clumps are to be avoided at all costs.

Well, thats all very scientific then - avoid clumps, but not crumbles.....thats what you get for all those years at medical school!
