Romney is Weird

Republican candidate Mitt Romney said this week that his favourite novel is Battlefield Earth by L. Ron Hubbard.

Hmmm.

This man shouldn't ever be President, should he?

Here are my questions for Mr Romney:

1. Is Mitt your real name?
2. If your're a Mormon, why don't you say something nice about a Mormon book instead of one by that looney?
3. With such poor taste in reading matter, could you be any worse a President than the current one?

I always laugh when James Wolcott calls him Oven Mitt. It's dumb, but always funny to me.

Speaking of Mormons, I read an excerpt about them from drunken Christopher Hitchens' new book. Ouch. I think it's on slate.com.
I'm so conflicted about Hitchens. I love hating him sometimes, but other times he makes perfect sense.

I think Bush is an aberration and no future President should be compared to him. The standards have to be higher. They just have to be.

Well, they couldn't get any lower! I'm the same about Hitchens - he wrote a pearler of a book about Mother Theresa that exposed her for the awful person she was - maybe he has a thing about religion? Has he got stuck into the Mormons now? Great!
