My Name is Nanuk...and I am an Addict

I'm sliding down a slippery slope.

Last month while in The Holy City I went to Second Cup with my sis and niece, and I ordered a green tea-and-passion fruit smoothie. I loved it passionately. So, I resisted going back because I knew from that very moment that this was a bad, bad thing.

Who says you can't get hooked on one hit?

Yesterday, in honour of Canada Day (what an excuse!), I went to SC and bought another. It had been a whole month.

Now I'm sipping another one. From one month between Smoothie Nos. 1 and 2, to a mere 24 hours between Nos. 2 and 3.

At least I'm getting them made with skim milk. But still. I'm feeling decadent. .... And loving it.

In my world of Catholic guilt, nothing this pleasurable can be good for you. It has to be bad.

If they offered it for sale with a free hair shirt, maybe I'd accept it more easily as something I deserve.

Hey...Free hair shirt!

would it help if the person making you the naughty-yummy smoothie had bleeding palms or was carrying her eyeballs on a plate or had 7 or 8 arrows sticking into his body?

Well, maybe not the eyeball thing. But some degree of suffering might be soothing on the guilt front.
