Justin Time

Well, I finally decided I should find out a little of what this Justin Bieber kid sounds like. So I went to YouTube and (briefly) listened to two songs, one of them had been listened to 49 million times and the other 115 million times.

I have never heard either of these songs before in my life. Where am I living? Planet Old, apparently. And my god, they are so bland. What is all the fuss about? Fine, I'm 49 going on 95. I don't care.

Now, if you want to talk about my kind of new teen idol, let's talk about Paolo Nutini. ooh. An Italian Scot. What ...has someone been reading my dream diary? Ok, so every song I've heard except "Candy" has been pretty boring, but Candy is awesome. Luv it.

Speaking of other things I love: two commercials. 1) The Dos Equis ones with the most interesting man in the world. Makes me laugh every single time. My favourite line: He lives vicariously...through himself, and 2) the one for Old Spice: "Two tickets to that thing you love". Brilliant ad.

on the bieber: I can't get beyond the hair

I asked the kids--and they don't seem too enthralled either--so I guess we are a bieber-free-zone or inhabitants of planet-old

See I think of him as the new version of Bobby Sherman for those of you oldsters with me. I tease my sister, who was a huge Bobby Sherman fan about JB al the time. He too had an oddly perfect bowl cut. It's a preteen thing. When my sisters were sighing over baby-faced pretty boys....I was not : )

Wow, you're right LLJ. He is very Bobby Sherman-ish. I was a David Cassidy and Donny Osmond girl myself. I still like David Cassidy!

Oh hell, Bobby Sherman - whatever happened to him anyway? (wikipedia search coming right up) Re Justin Bieber, he came out here a couple of months ago and was responsible for mass teenage hysteria in Sydney - clearly they are easily impressed up there.
You've just discovered Paolo? Where have you been!!!! Features prominently on my ipod!

Now I know we're all getting old - Bobby Sherman is 67 years old!!!!

And this, from Wiki "Sherman built a one-fifth scale model of Disneyland's Main Street, made entirely by hand in his yard at home" - why???

Sure enough: http://www.bobbysherman.com/disney.htm

The man does have a replica of main street in his back yard.

What a strange world we live in...

Julie, Julie, Julie do you care?
