FF is coming to spend the day on Sunday. It appears ribs and red wine will be on the menu, with some kind of apple dessert. He was planning the menu last night.
I told him I would make him an olive bread since he has been whining for one since he was in Calgary. I believe it is best to eat the olive bread fresh and warm out of the oven on Sunday, but he wants to take it home. So I said, well, then if you want some to take home, then don't eat too much of it on Sunday. His reply? Can't you make me a second one to take home?
Oh Fancy Feast, how I have missed your pushy arrogance.
Update: When I told him not to get pushy about a 2nd loaf. This is the answer I get.
QUOTE: Wanting a loaf of bread is greedy?? Seriously, you're on a mission to make sure I don't take olive bread home. I don't get it! Proper etiquette wouldn't have you sending me home with a piece of an olive bread loaf. I should be taking a full loaf home... UNQUOTE
I didn't think it possible, but it appears he's become even more insane. I love it.

I'm pretty sure Miss Manner's head just exploded from that exchange....
Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Enough with the f**kin' olive bread, FF. You want olive bread so f**kin' bad, go buy your own f**kin' loaf!!!
On an aside note, it does sound delcious. Maybe I'll drop by on Sunday and have a piece, leaving him even less to take home* with him.

*you do know when he says "to take home with him', he in fact means "upstairs."
Interestingly enough, I went to my parents last night for supper. My mother gave me three quarters of a carrot-cake loaf to take home with me. I was more than happy and grateful for the 3/4 loaf. Didn't need a whole loaf. Didn't complain. Didn't make her bake another one before leaving.

You are letting your mother disrespect you by not insisting that you get a whole loaf to take home. Tell your mom she knows nothing about proper etiquette.
I have a strong feeling I'm about to withdraw my invitation for Sunday. I'm already totally annoyed with this crackpot.... but I know I will be denying this blog some hilarious postings!
pls don't disinvite FF: I need my amusements
and JAW fan--I have to agree w/ms nanuk--how can your mom be so cruel as to deny you one quarter of a carrot cake?? (perhaps she has watched too many karen black vs the devil-doll episodes of night gallery with her son and her mind has been warped where cake/bread-giving etiquette is concerned--)
I hope you told your mother that from now on if you are going over there for supper, she needs to make two carrot loaves, one for the meal and one to be enjoyed whole by you on your return home. That is proper etiquette.
