3. In Donovan’s Reef, when the girl says "Mr. Donovan, I’ve been kissed before” and he kisses her hard and she says: “Well, I thought I’d been kissed before”.
2. Liberty Valance: “That’s my steak”.
1. In The Quiet Man, when Barry Fitzgerald sees the broken honeymoon bed and says “Impetuous! Homeric!”
I never stop watching The Quiet Man at that point, I have to keep watching.

"Gimmee some a' tha' black beer"
Ah, I remember how your husband loved that line!
and that black beer
Also in Donavan's Reef when JW is discussing possible names if he has kids with "the girl" and she suggests Aloysius and he reacts in horror and says "That's a Helluva a name for a Donavan!".
"Gilhooley! Gilhooley!"
Lee Marvin rocks.
This relates back to your post of yesterday - Donovan's Reef is one of those films I've seen many, many times but everytime I stumble across it I will watch it as long as I can. And I have it on DVD anyway!
Hey Mrs. Mushrooms - you can tell your black-beer lovin' husband the first time I saw it was in a Marc Gervais screening at Loyola.
did everyone applaud when monsigneur gervais appeared (a la oprah)?
Indeed - allowing him to bow gracefully (but how else would a Jesuit bow?). Do you know that as one of the world's biggest experts on Bergman, he did the audio commentary on a bunch of DVD releases of a few Bergman films a couple of years back.
Amen.
