Apparently, we had a 5.5 earthquake about 40 minutes ago. I didn't notice a thing.
If I had been at home, I'm sure I would've been aware of it, but here at work, nuthin'.
I was in the cafeteria with a colleague, and I guess we were so engrossed in our endless bitchin' about our employer, we had no awareness of the shifting tectonic plates.

T. called me to tell me his entire house shook.
I was too busy writing a nasty work e-mail to notice anything.

where's chuck heston when you need him?
He's buried. Him and his cold dead hands.
I was in the car (stopped at a red light) at the time – when the shaking started I thought the car was acting up … I was already worried about repair costs before I figured out what was happening. Very odd driving around the city – no damage but many traffic lights out and people (evacuated from buildings) everywhere made for traffic chaos. Anyway, a good shake … although our apartment was fine (I’m sure this house – built around 1880 – has handled plenty worse)

Are you sure the earthquake didn't start down here, where our first female Prime Minister was elected today?
I saw that on the news. Don't want to discourage you, but we had a female PM come in the same way, and it changed nothing in politics.
But cabinet revolts are always interesting. You wonder what is said behind closed doors.
I know - it wasn't just a cabinet revolt either, it was the majority of the parliamentary party!
Oh I think most of us realise not much will change - she was Rudd's deputy afterall.....
