California Wildfires
I'd like to hear from our West Coast correspondent, LLJ. She's the only person I "know" (if I may say that) in San Diego, and it would be good to know that her house hasn't burned down and she and Able Assistant are okay.
Sorry to respond so late... We are indeed fine. The abode is still standing. Luckily (for us) this time the fires split and went north and south of us.
Damn near the entire group of people I work with had to evacuate their homes. I drove into work since I'm so close and manned (womanned?) the phone lines so everyone could keep track of each other. Plus listening to 24 hours of news has made my head hurt. Wait, that could just be the smoke...
Yes Bush was here yesterday, I had a lovely view of Air Force One taking off and landing across the street.
I of course was way more excited to think of Anderson Cooper and John King being in town last night. Sadly they were in an area completely off limits or I would have made a man-watching trip.
I still can't believe that we have these huge fires almost 4 years to the day of the last time. Global warming anyone?

Great to hear from you. I'm glad everything is okay, even if you didn't get to see Anderson up close and personal.
